Fast delivery of this amazing collection of 7 Monica Edwards 1st edition books. Given that they are all in, as described, great condition with mylar-protected dust jackets and environmentally friendly highly safeguarded packaging with hand-signed card, I can't imagine anything better value for money. With cheap postage & amazingly low purchase price, I have never had such an enjoyable shopping experience & I have had many! Very highly recommended seller who I would buy from again in a heartbeat.

The two books were nicely packaged and even bubble-wrapped as well! It shipped pretty fast and since it was coming overseas I expected it to take more than two weeks or so to get here, but not six days! The two books came exactly as they were shown in the pictures. As a sucker for Roman history, this was a great and unique find! I managed to a pair of books like this in Abebooks with the mylar too, but someone bought it before I did, so I'm glad I had the chance to buy this. Awesome seller.

Thrilling, absorbing historical novel
I was worried that Wolf Hall would prove to be a heavyweight, over-detailed dissertation on the court of Henry VIII. Far from it -- it's a page-turner, hard to put down. It deals with the life of Thomas Cromwell, a tough, cunning, and highly capable businessman, politician and courtier. Author Hilary Mantel seals her place as a great novelist and a fantastic user of English punctuation. A captivating story with it's authencity and colourful characters, a hard book to put down.
I have to say this book was our 'book club' read, and not one I would have chosen myself, but have found it fascinating and have hardly been able to put it down. An excellent writer and one who obviously knows her subject. really takes you to the authentic times of the story,and have fallen for Thomas Cromwell !!The actual second hand book is of very good quality and will keep for years in my bookcase. A good story spoilt by a confusing style of narrative
Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel is a historical novel set in the time of Henry 8th with the leading character of Thomas Cromwell. Mantel guides us through his life from a teenager to high office with side issues and intrigue along the way. However I found her style of writing and lack of a linear narrative extremely confusing, she jumps from one era to another back and forth so that when reading the next chapter it can be some time before the reader works out what is going on. I did not enjoy reading and would not recommend this book. Real historical content, totally believable portraits.
This starts off with a tremendous bang ... real historical content, totally believable character portraits of some of the most variedly interpreted personages. Hilary Mantel draws a complete picture of the times and court of Henry VIII ... you can almost smell, taste and feel the ambience. Well-merited winner of the Man Booker Prize!

Brilliant Book, great writing.
Master class in Historical story telling where Mantel's absorbing take On Thomas Cromwell, Henry VIII etc make the characters come to life, compelling.
