SynopsisIn The Philosophy of Andy Warhol, the enigmatic, legendary Warhol makes the reader his confidant on love, sex, food, beauty, fame, work, money, success, and much more. Andy Warhol claimed that he loved being outside a party--so that he could get in. But more often than not, the party was at his own studio, The Factory, where celebrities--from Edie Sedgwick and Allen Ginsberg to the Rolling Stones and the Velvet Underground--gathered in an ongoing bash. A loosely formed autobiography, told with his trademark blend of irony and detachment, this compelling and eccentric memoir riffs and reflects on all things Warhol: New York, America, and his childhood in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, as well as the explosion of his career in the sixties, and his life among the rich and famous., In The Philosophy of Andy Warhol, the enigmatic, legendary Warhol makes the reader his confidant on love, sex, food, beauty, fame, work, money, success, and much more., In The Philosophy of Andy Warhol, the enigmatic, legendary Warhol makes the reader his confidant on love, sex, food, beauty, fame, work, money, success, and much more.Andy Warhol claimed that he loved being outside a party--so that he could get in. • Cool, distracted, contrived?

A neat feel of the late sixties early seventies. Guy is cool in an outsider naive stunted unformed self view kinda way. Hard to figure; sometimes profound sometimes banal. Sort of stream of consciousness much of the time. But how much is the persona he has created? Is he the master manipulator or the shell washed around by the waves? Almost zen in his apparent non thinking reactions. I recommend reading about him on wiki. He was very religious but doesn’t mention it. He wore a wig to cover male pattern baldness. He self admits to be an Americafile, loving to see the customs upon arrival after Europe. Who feels that way??? An interesting view of the meaning and total lack of meaning of the Pope of Pop.
