Works and sounds well with some caveats
I replaced a previous Sony marine radio to add Bluetooth capability. This radio does have Bluetooth and the sound is very good. Just words of warning are (1) instructions included to not show how to pair Bluetooth device, so figuring out was a pain, and I'm still not good at repeating the process (2) if you disconnect power to radio (common in a boat), you need to re-pair your device; (3) the power/audio wire harness is smaller size than previous Sony model, but fortunately the wire colors are the same-- get ready to splice wires-- but it worked the first time. Would buy Again for another project!
The radio has plenty of power and the functionality is perfect for what I was using this unit for. I love that its waterproof and I don't have to worry much about damage from water while riding in my UTV and dealing with a lot of vibrations that this thing takes like a champ. The only thing I don't like is the plug for the Auxilary Input Jack. The plug is just a piece of rubber that you push into the opening. Nothing keeps it attached to the radio, therefore it will easily get lost. Which mine has already fell out on its own and disappeared. Other than that, Great product and I would definitely buy again.The radio has plenty of power and the functionality is perfect for what I was using this unit for. Great radio
I put this in my 2009 harley, a local guy recommended trying a Sony after I told him I had tried that POS of kenwood marine radio, a Panasonic radio, an Alpine that wouldn't communicate with handle bar controls. THE BEST PART EASY TO INSTALL AND BLUETOOTH IS THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN! The blue is easier and works better than having radio hooked up with aux cable. Sony boat radio
Installed in boat in about 45 min. Worked first time and sounds great. Still learning some of the fine tuning of the speakers. If I live long enough it should sound great.
