Synopsis
Lost and Found's collection of short stories show how diverse characters deal with loss and unexpected resolutions. In "The Painted Chair" an unconventional narrator recounts its own perspective on life. In "Obituary" a lovely, feisty ninety-year-old deals with her imminent demise while engaging in an unusual hobby. "Another Time" follows an old woman's fantasy as her thoughts wander to a romantic moment in her life. The protagonist, M, in "The Eternal Light" observes her abandoned apartment from a distance and addresses her tormented existence. The narrator in "Fly Heart Soup" struggles with the decision to leave her only friend in pursuit of a more interesting relationship with a sympathetic old man who believes he's Mark Twain. The title story, "Lost and Found" engages a widow in obsessive reflections regarding her marriage until a surprise finding dispels her misconceptions.
