If you enjoy video game history, playing early games can help you watch technology advance by comparing this Sega game that was released in 1989 to more recent games. Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, released in 1989, is the sequel to the Sega game, Ghost ‘n Goblins, which was released in 1985. Both games tell a modern tale of the classic Camelot, updated with early animated graphics from Japan. Follow along with the storyline started in the Goblins cartridge as the legend continues in this one, or just pick up where this new segment of the spooky legend starts. As you play these Sega games, you get to live out a lifelong fantasy of being a young King Arthur riding to the rescue of his sweet future queen Guinevere while decked out in a beautiful suit of armor. Battle all kinds of random ghouls, like demons, vultures, ghosts, goblins, skeletons, flaming werewolves, and treacherous poisonous flowers in the quest to set the lovely princess free from the grips of the evil King Loki in these games. In the Ghouls ‘n Ghosts game version for Sega Genesis, you start the adventure having a picnic in a graveyard with Guinevere when she gets kidnapped by King Loki. As you start to play the game, you embark on the adventure with a sword and you have opportunities to find other weaponry along the way, including a dagger, fire water, and a discus. You’ll need to find other weapons before the final stages of the Sega version of Ghouls ‘n Ghosts game that happens in the Castle of Evil Demons, because after your long search, you have to be prepared, plus you need to play well. King Loki and a giant bee fight hard to preserve their captive, and they are tough to beat, so beware. Ghouls ‘n Ghosts games have a rating of E for everyone, and there is some animated violence as Arthur works his way through the quest to find his lady love. But, this vintage game was around before cheats were a thing, so be ready to play your way through a challenging but fun game.

    Disc arrived fast, so that's a positive. Seller described as "New" which is technically true as it was wrapped and unopened, and disc inside is mint, but see photos. DVD was a "cutout" and case has a box cutter slice right through bar code right through case and paper insert. Also, another torn spot in the insert. I would never describe a DVD like this as "new" without mentioning issues or at least including a photo. I can't recommend this seller.

    A staple for your library

    Arguably the three most recognized ports of this game rest on the shoulders of the NES, SNES, and Genesis/Mega Drive. While the SNES may boast technical superiority over this title, and while this version may come with early release quality, debatably this is the better of all the variations. Smooth movement, multi directional aiming and a more faithful rendition of the arcade source material all come together to form an absolute must-have for your Sega library. There isn't much that could be said of Ghouls n Ghosts that hasn't been said before, if you've never played any if the adaptations before and you're looking to start, consider this the perfect beginning to your journey.

    Great game, i love the Ghouls n Ghosts franchise have almost every version, great game but a living nightmare when it comes to playing, plan on spending time on this it's not something you will finish quickly, in this case genius really does what Nintendon't

    Ghouls N Ghosts

    Ghouls n ghosts for sega Genesis is a port of the arcade game so it’s a bit rough around the edges. But it is good game. It’s hard though as it will beat you a lot. But there is checkpoints and unlimited continues. Highly recommend for sega collectors.
