    ZS6 BKW JUNIOR: When I finally understood the poly weave used in this antenna is stainless steel I was very concerned because the conductivity of SS is only 2% of copper, but when measuring the resistance from the center to one end found it to be very low, under 1 ohm which my ohm meter won't go below. I was concerned the resistance would be much higher, relieved it isn't. The seller stated SS is much stronger than copper, true, but I've been a ham for over 50 years and never copper break.

    A nicely made flex-weave half-size G5RV , ready to be installed with a bit of additional protection covering the exposed metal parts.

    Having had a similar flex-weave half G5RV up for about ten years, I decided to continue with a new one, after the old one had corroded. The plastic covering over the weave had become cracked and water was getting inside. The new one arrived and upon inspection, it was built very similar to my old one. I would say the junction between the ribbon cable and S0239 was better designed. With sufficient protection, the coax cable PL259 should remain water proof, as had my old one. I used self-amalgamating tape before to achieve this. One thing I did notice was the crimp connectors on the T piece were a bit stressed, the plastic being crimped with a pair of pliers, rather than the correct tool, or so it would seem, leaving the insulators crushed rather than crimped.     Excellent antenna.

    Really impressed with this G5RV, very well built, just had to connect the 300 ohm window line to the feedpoint and seal it up then hang it up and plug it into a auto tuner. I was delighted to see the tuner find a good match on every band easily, even 6m, as my previous G5RV used to struggle with 60m, 30m and 15m. It is up at 30ft with a 4ft hang down on one leg and a sharp bend in the other leg. I live in a heavily built up area so noise is a problem always but this antenna seems to be a better receiver and also transmitting then my previous antenna which was a Carolina Windom. Yes, I am very pleased with it.

    Excellent value for money

    This is an excellent antenna, very well made and excellent value for money. Most amateurs have wires to construct this antenna but if you priced up the parts for constructing one, it would cost more than this antenna on Ebay. That was the reason why I bought this ZS6BKW instead of making one . I wanted to compare a ZS6BKW to my Windom antenna.. I found I could use it on most frequencies without an antenna tuner and it compared favourably to the Windom. I have been an amateur for 58 years.

    Nice stainless steel poly weave dipole

    Nice antenna well built but poly weave is stainless steel, would prefer stranded copper, strength using steel is great but I don’t care about stretching and never had a cooper dipole break.
