    Ego's VS progress

    "And The Band Played On" is a story of events that have hit millions of households in the world today. Big name doctors could have made a major impact on this terrible disease before it became a household name. However, their equally big ego got in the way and now it is almost tantamount to a world wide plague. True, modern medicine has made tremendous strides in research but it is sad to remember it could have been contained if not stopped altogether many years ago.

    Educational and Entertaining.

    This film is a docu-drama about the early days of the AIDS epidemic and the desperate research to identify the disease. The film is historically accurate with some character embellishment. It is entertaining by displaying the competition between some in the research field and the conflict in identifying the disease, the way it's transmitted, its victim base, etc. It is well acted. The production values and direction are well done. The film while heartbreaking, is educational and entertaining.

    The real Truth

    This movie started it all. It got a President off his ass a little to show some fiancial support. That AIDS was orginally called GRIDS But the movie showed more than homosexuals getting this horrible disease. It also started the red cross testing all blood before being used and that you didnt have to be gay to det this disease hetros got it to. Well done well acted movie Matt Bodine, Alan Alda any many more stared in this early break threw film. AAAAAA++++++++++

    Amazing and brave depiction of blind 80s

    This movie is like watching history come alive I was a teenager when this was all happening and I saw all the good in itvthen but watching this as an adult and understanding the risks these actors took during this time makes me love it even more and I will watch it with my 12 year old son once I think he’s ready it’s important his generation understands how recent all this was

    The KILLER That was Ignored!

    This is close to a factual documentary timeline progression about AIDS from first discovery of the afflicted and high death rates it created. It is scary and shocking, especially as world-wide "Government Leaders" refused to acknowledge its lethality, and refused to financially support scientific research to understand and find solutions.
