A comfortable bench at a great price point.
This is an excellent product for the price. A very stable bench for me with a wide range of vertical adjustment and I love the storage compartment. I have been using it for about a month and I find it very comfortable. Again, the price point of this bench vs the mechanical quality seems to be excellent. That said, the finish is not the best. In the first week, I chipped a small fleck of the vernier off. I was able to glue it back on but still. The color of the brown wood finish is quite nice and matches my mahogany clavichord well. The faux leather seat pattern is less satisfactory. It is comfortable but the color is much more red than brown and the "wood grain" is a bit cheap looking. I weigh @160 lbs. and use the bench at the clavichord so I am not putting a great deal of stress on the ... This is an excellent product for the price. Beautiful, functional piece
I actually bought this to use in my bathroom, believe it or not, to serve as a vanity bench. It would serve equally well as the piano bench it is meant to be, but I don't have a piano, and I needed a vanity bench. I couldn't find one that was affordable or that I liked, with storage, so when I saw this bench, I thought, "This might work!" And it does. I have some hair accessories stored in the space under the seat cover. The bench is much more "luxurious" than the piano bench (yes, it was used for an organ, not a vanity) I used to have, although there is less room in the storage compartment. But the padded, thick seat is beautiful, as is the entire piece. It's a little darker (or "reddish-orange") in color than I would have liked, but it still looks lovely in my bathroom. Plus it's ... Great for the money
Considering the price, the quality is quite good. Assembly is very easy with tool provided & the bench is sturdy (legs don't wobble). The high-gloss finish had a couple small dings that were easily touched up. It came with a couple large "Made In China" stickers on the front & back of the bench that were difficult to remove. I needed a razor blade & "Goo-Be-Gone" product to get them off. We don't use the adjustable feature of the bench except just to test it out. It seems to work okay, but we'll most likely leave it in the lowest position (no kids at home). The storage compartment is totally adequate for our needs & the hinge works well. Exactly what I wanted
The bench is just as described and exactly what I wanted. You do have to assemble it, but it is not hard. They even provide a cute little wrench and you don't need any other tools. If you follow the instructions and put it together right, it is just fine. The reviewer who complained that the legs were wobbly: you need to tighten the nuts. The one who complained that there isn't enough room to wrench it more quickly: that's because legs belong in the corners & that's all the room there is, so just take your time and do it right (so the legs won't be wobbly). People are so silly complaining about their own user error. Anyway, it didn't take too long to assemble, and the finished product is very nice. Good seat
Better than I though it was going to be for the price. My only frame of reference was the bench for my Steinway. But then that one cost $295.00. For the price I don't think it can be beat. Assembly was a breeze (but I used a socket wrench not the one provided). I add a little lube to the adjusting screw and "VOILA"! Works like a charm. My only comment is because of the low price, corners had to be cut but only of an appearance issue. Because I leaned to play from the drop position I have to adjust the bench so my elbows are level with the keyboard. That brings the set up high and the mechanism is exposed. not so pretty. That is one of the differences with the Steinway bench, but then that is one of the things you pay that high price for. I consider this bench to be a great value ...
