Couldn't resist
I actually avoided this for months, but finally broke down and bought it. For most, the 2 CD set will be fine, but if you want the full package (book-4 CD's-DVD-Blu-ray & extra goodies) you need the box. It really does sound spectacular, and the 5.1 mix was fun, but the mono and stereo versions are the real draw. Two discs of outtakes are a great bonus for hard core fans, and that pretty much describes me, so yes, it was well worth the price.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Sgt. Pepper Marches Into The 21st Century
It's like listening to a brand new Beatles album. Giles Martin did an unbelievable job of remixing the EMI master tapes by using state of the art recording studio technology. The vocals are much more crisp and Paul's bass and Ringo's drums are up front in the mix now. The book, included in this deluxe edition, explains, in great technical detail, the recording process of each track on the album. I highly recommend this deluxe edition to any serious Beatle fan. Essential
The hard cover book is beautiful, the new mix is controversial, but I like it, and the video on Blu Ray or DVD with George Martin detailing the mix is brilliant. Highly recommended! Of course, the Blu Ray audio is unsurpassed. The two CDs of alternate takes have been widely bootlegged for decades, but they are nice and clean here. The original mono mix is also great to have, if you don't already. Horrifying to learn the only reason the boys didn't have access to an 8-track recorder for Pepper's is because, in Ringo's words, "EMI was just to cheap to buy the plug for it." A Masterful Presentation of a Musical Milestone
The Beatles - "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" is, and always will be, a masterpiece to be enjoyed again and again. The remastering and remixing into 5.1 Surround Sound is superb, breathing a new aural dimension into this timeless classic. Hear the Beatles the way you always wanted to hear them

Great, complete package.
I love everything about this purchase. My one disappointment is that there wasn't more. I have seen bits of a newer documentary on the "Making of..." and I was hoping that would be in this package.
