I Am Not Sick and I Don't Need Help
Dr. Xavier Amador's book is an excellent resource about helping loved ones who suffer from mental illness and brain disorders. The book is based on Amador's own personal experiences with his brother and clinical cases.

Should be mandatory reading for anyone trying to learn what to do when someone in the family is mentally ill.

Incredibly helpful
If you are in doubt about buying this, watch the author's TED talk on you tube. I learned so much. I was told that this is the best book out there on this topic, and I don't doubt it.

Must read for family members of mentally ill individuals
Good information if you have a friend or family member with a mental illness, especially if that individual cannot see what everyone else sees and therefore does not stay on their medication.
