Great book on a topic rarely addressed
I liked this book because I don't think there are many books that cover this topic. This book is very informative and almost necessary reading for anyone who has any association with an adult of alcoholic parents or parent. I just wish I had found many years before I did. It might have enlightened me to the point that I might not have gotten involved, if only I had known better.

Great book to beging recognition of a family's history.
I've used this book with clients, and recommend it to many people who are in the early stages of recognizing their family's pathological and dysfunction brought about by alcohol addiction. The basic steps are applicable to any dysfunctional family i.e. families of drug addiction, gambling, workaholics, shopaholic, etc. Excellent book to start educating ones SELF.

Emotional recovery
As a recovered (by God’s grace) woman, I had to continue to explore the core issues that continued to crop up in my 10th and 11th steps. ACA helped me better understand what I couldn’t on my own. This book has restored my emotional sobriety

Clarity
Excellent book. Basic awareness on why your such a mess from growing up in an "Alcoholic Home". When you felt you were all alone, then you get a hold of this gem. Exciting, promising, hopeful and a start to a life worth living.

Not just for the stated people.
Not just for children from alcoholic households. The symptoms apply to a wide variety of adults. This book is an insightful look at the consequences of growing up in a disfunctional household.
