Finally available in America, Spanish director De La Iglesia's (HIDDEN PLEASURES) 1971 film is a shocking study of human cruelty and man's capacity for violence during the last years of Franco's fascist dictatorship. Slaughterhouse worker Marcos (Parra) acquires a taste for blood after he accidentally kills a man during an altercation. Flowing with an insuppressible rage, the once-sane man succumbs to his most depraved passions, eventually indulging in cannibalism to dispose of his victim's bodies. Not for the squeamish!

Gentlemen, This 1970s VHS tape of CANNIBAL MAN wasn't exactly what was expected from the title or from the cover art on the shell casing. Price was extremely reasonable, but the plot and story line was weak. Sorry. bvb
