Nice model - even if flawed materials-wise.
To begin: FIRST RATE SERVICE from the seller. Now to Autoart's model. A fine model of the 'late' batch of Lightweigh 'E's build in the last decade. A lovely model; however, there are drawbacks - all due to Autoart's recent use of plastic mouldings rather than the much finer metal diecast work. Firstly, the shut-lines (according to Autoart's own garb), which should be much closer than those in metal, simply aren't (indeed, in a photo, it looks like a top-end 1/43 rather than a 1/18th). It also feels 'delicate' compared with Autoarts metal diecasts (Millennium Porsche 911RS and Signature Lancia S4 (both of which, incidentally, have tighter shut-lines). Now for positives. The cockpit is a gem of a model. Dash is well-nigh perfect - although the Sabelt markings on the harnesses should actually be Willans. Under the bonnet is nothing but superb - and the reason the model was not returned. Utterly superbly done. Road wheels also are absolutely perfect - don't try and steer them though - they feel 'plasticky' and very delicate, compared with the equally plastic offerings of earlier models' undercarriages. I leave the 'product' review open. The model in no way equals Autoart's cast metal productions in many respects, but the interior is beautifully modelled. PS The roll cage is NOT removable as advertised - not without work on the seats also. Overall - this is the finest 1/18th 'Lightweight' available - and has the 'look' as Paragon fail to do. I may have been overly critical - but this is due to Autoart's previous excellence.
