Flawed But Enjoyable
This message of this film is a relatively familiar one. It is a "coming of age" story about young men's awareness of their sexuality. It is the story of a group of friends who are students in a private Christian school with the goal of further education in seminary. This film portrays their struggles as they realize they are gay. It shows their struggles with family and the school's oppressing behavior toward them. Even some violent attacks and harassment from fellow students. The story is fairly engaging if at sometimes being trite. The acting is at times stilted and trite as well. The lead actors are fairly good. The direction is also a little trite.
