The two-CD set is THE one to get
Melody Gardot has a great voice lost in studio productions, as many great voices are. But in the two CD set, she releases segments of a live performance in Paris [disc 2]. After hearing what her voice truly sounds like, I have relegated disc 1 to the ho hum pile and play only disc 2. I personally attend live concerts for many reasons, the main one is to feel the emotion created by the performers during the performance. Yes, it's nice to see someone in the flesh but one's soul can be revealed during any live event. Some performances are more memorable than others [I can only imagine how fatiguing an artist must get when performing the same set over and over again from city to city], but there is that magic that comes together on rare occasion that makes attending live performances worth it. This Paris performance is one of them and I wish I could have been there to witness it. Alas, all I have is the magic that is put down on the CD. If you compare the quality of the recordings [disc 1 to disc 2] you will be amazed at how much is lost in the studio version. The dynamics, the clarity, the production all hide the potential of Melody's true talents in disc 1 while LIFE is generated in disc 2. I searched for a long time to find this edition and I would encourage you to do the same. If you are a one of her fans, this two CD set is the one to get. If you have never heard of Melody Gardot, this is the version to buy to properly assess her abilities.

Exactly as described
Product arrived in good time and was well packaged. The music on the Cd is of course a personal choice nut I really like Melody Gardot so I thought the CD was great, and the fact it has a bonus cd with live performance of her in Paris was also great.
