This series of books are a great and detailed insight into early aviation design motivated by the demands of war.
Sadly I believe there are only five in the series which deals with British (volumes 1-4) and French fighters sadly the series never went further. J M Bruce also did the series on WW2 aircraft (same format) which covered nearly all the aircraft except British and American bombers (volumes 11-12 never printed0.
The pictures are good with scale drawings, very similar to the Putnam and Observers book format. The writing is good and informative.
Printed on good quality paper.
