As created and written by Roy Clarke, the British series LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE eventually set a record as the longest-airing situation comedy program in UK history, with a run that began in November 1973 and extended into the 21st century. Episodes detailed the activities of a group of cantankerous, trouble-prone old men, residents of Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, England. The series swept up both critical accolades and decades of devoted viewers, although, given the premise and the ages of the actors, various cast permutations were frequent. This box set contains all six of the Series 8 episodes of SUMMER WINE, which originally aired between late December 1984 and mid-March 1985. Installments include, "Catching Digby's Donkey," "The Mysterious Feet of Nora Batty" and "The Woollenmills Of Your Mind."

Cannot Get Enough of LOTSW!
I really enjoy watching LOSTW! I have been collecting each series for several years now. This was a great find and I appreciate the Seller very much because he/she did not price gauge and was easy to communicate with. Also the packaging /transporting of the product was secure and was handled carefully. Thank you!

A great piece of British Comedy expertly crafted into an extremely long running and popular television series,Roy Clarke is a master at placing the characters into their respective roles very funny and enjoyable collection

The original show abot nothing!
Before 'Signfeld' there was 'LOTSW'. From the 70's to the 06's this show about 3 Retirees entertained both Brits and Americans for decades. Seldom IMO a "clunker" episode.
