Out and about Kettle
This small 12V camping kettle is well made although some parts fit a little loosely, like the lid. It has an on off light as well as a locking lid. Its large round base makes it quite stable if resting on the floor of a car, something to consider with the more conventional jug type kettles available..
The 1.5m lead is good to allow it to stand outside the car if needed. It switches itself off when boiled which means you don't have to monitor it all the time, which is just as well as it takes ages to boil (20-30mins depending on initial water temp). It is probably no different to other 12V kettles in this respect as they all seem to be about 150-170W and there is a limit to how much power you can put through a 12v DC cable and car socket.
It does not seem to drain the car battery too much per boil so there should not be much risk of flattening the battery and not being able to start the car again! If in doubt do a trial at home before using whilst out and about.
Overall the thing does the job for an emergency cup of tea.
