SynopsisThe Red Book, published to wide acclaim in 2009, contains the nucleus of C. G. Jung's later works. It was here that he developed his principal theories of the archetypes, the collective unconscious, and the process of individuation that would transform psychotherapy from treatment of the sick into a means for the higher development of the personality. As Sara Corbett wrote in the New York Times, "The creation of one of modern history's true visionaries, The Red Book is a singular work, outside of categorization. As an inquiry into what it means to be human, it transcends the history of psychoanalysis and underscores Jung's place among revolutionary thinkers like Marx, Orwell and, of course, Freud." The Red Book: A Reader's Edition features Sonu Shamdasani's introductory essay and the full translation of Jung's vital work in one volume., The Red Book , published to wide acclaim in 2009, contains the nucleus of C. • Simply Amazing

This book is a magnificent peice of work by Carl G. Jung. The fact that it wasn not published until 2009 is still mind blowing. This work is appealing to such a wide variety of audiences due to the many subject matters it covers. Whether one is interested in psychology, magick, occult, or just self analysis, this book has so much to offer. No matter which subject matter draws you in here this book will certainly expand your understanding of not only that particular subject, but so many other subjects too. Some you may not even have known you were interested in until reading this. This book is certainly very unique and set apart from the collected works of Carl Jung. This book is like a private peek into the personal life and workings of the mind of one of the founding fathers of modern Psychology. There are very few people alive that I feel would not find some part of this work to love. Im eternally grateful to the descendants of Carl Jung for making this gen available to the average reader.

  • Good for a reader.

Not exactly a Hardcover, it's more like a Bible binding cover, half way between paperback and board bound. The print is clear and a decent size. Only two black and white illustrations that I've found in the back, but it's the text that I wanted to read.

  • A wonderful, mystical book with a wealth of insights into Jung's life work.

Perfect condition. A gem of a book. You will need a bit of background in alchemical principles/concepts/symbolism and the collective unconscious, but any research will pay huge dividends.

  • Insightful and worth investigating

Well, I just started the introduction, but from a little skim I did I would say; if you're already into an individualization process then this book will definitely clear up some insights and inclinations you might be having.
