Not a fast, quick read for a school term programming assignment.
All about VHDL, with lots of examples and good coverage up to VHDL-2002 language constructs. A big book (909 pgs), this is not a lightweight. Absolutely no mention of tools, programmers or dev boards etc, it is just about VHDL. Don't get the difficult-to-read print-of-demand knock-offs or the poorly-edited Kindle edition - given the weight, splash out for the hardcover. If you're looking for something concise and succinct for VHDL programming in a school term, you'll do better with less wordy tomes. Many people buy it and don't read it - that's a mistake. It needs to be read.
