Product Information

The sequel to the breakthrough crossover fighter, Capcom vs. SNK 2 brings together over 40 different characters from the companies most beloved franchises. Long-forgotten brawlers like Eagle, a British fighter from the original Street Fighter, and the ever-popular Haohmaru of Samurai Shodown fame, make much welcomed returns to the fighting arena. The four-button scheme of the original has been replaced by the traditional six-button control arrangement, and four grooves have been added, bringing the total to six.<br><br>The six different grooves represent a particular style of fighting, and add or remove the ability to block in midair, and counter and parry (among others). Given the ability to customize their own groove, players can apply all of the elements to their fighter, as long as their assigned point value remains under a preset limit. A variety of special meters, such as the Samurai Shodown "Rage Meter," are available, as well as the standard three-level Capcom meter. <br><br>As before, ratios provide a limited amount of customization, allowing players to choose among a single powerful fighter, up to three fighters, or any combination in between. Additionally, certain characters have been given new moves, while others have lost some. Standard genre modes such as Survival and Versus are available, and the Color Edit mode allows players to create a custom palette for their favorite combatants. Full 3D backgrounds contain references to many of Capcom and SNK's past and present titles.

    Best Crossover I Have Ever Played

    Capcom vs SNK 2 is a fantastic crossover videogame with a nice twist. Gameplay stands out as the player can choose from 6 different power gauge systems that have been borrowed from both past Capcom and SNK titles. The roster consists mostly of Capcom Characters (namely and mainly Street Fighter) but has many notable SNK fighters to keep any fighting fan satisfied. The game also features a custom color system where a player can customize the colors a sprite of their favorite character and use them in battle (they can be accessed by pressing start). Overall, it is a gem and any person who is a fan of fighters should give it a try.

    So Many Characters... So Much Fun

    This is one of my favorite games to play right now. I’m mostly a Capcom Fan but having the SNK characters bring crazy new mechanics into the game with characters from Street Fighter is so crazy. Rolls are great. A warning though, I think the input timing is even tighter than 3S. A lot of times I find myself dropping specials and combos.

    Beautiful-looking game for its time!

    I played the game for a short while and it still looks and works well. Obviously, it's outdated, but one can tell it was ahead of its time. Disc, case, and manual are in such excellent condition that I'm too scared to even touch it. And that's a good thing!

    Definitely the game i was looking to get again and enjoy!

    I was honestly looking around alot for this product and everytime i did it was either too pricey or just came with a manual and no game. But I'm very glad i got it again plus this product came with alil nice note which i thought was very cool! Oh! it works like a dream and it makes me very nostalgic 😝

    Best VS. game ever released by Capcom.

    I bought this game when it originally came out over a decade and a half ago. To this day, it holds up as one of the most technical, powerful and brilliant arcade fighters ever created. Multiple fighting styles for each character, and gorgeous sprite artwork bring the battles alive. It's hard to choose characters because all of them are amazing. Capcom has done a fantastic job balancing the fighters from both companies.
