It’s a great flash for the camera
Was looking for one for a used camera I purchased when I looked on Amazon they were like over $100 new so I found a new in box one on eBay for a good price and I got it and it works perfectly for the NEX –5N. This is the smaller flash there is a larger one if you need it for more panoramic views is my understanding.

It's a very basic flash, but it does the job.
It's a very basic flash, but it does the job. It works with the camera very well, because it was designed by Sony. It's not very powerful, not much better than the pop up flash on most of its rivals cameras. But it works, and the case attaches to your camera strap. And it's very inexpensive, unlike the more powerful NEX flashes.

Cheapest TTL flash. LOVE IT!!!
The flash compensation feature on my SONY NEX-3 makes this a very versatile TTL flash... For like twenty bucks!!! In a Chinese underwater housing, even. Of course, you need to shoot CLOSE underwater.

It's a Sony!
The flash fits and works perfectly. The flash is way smaller than I expected but functions well at close range as expected. It's like a little brighter than the flash you get from your cell phone so don't expect a whole lot of high performance.
