Duma was the perfect title. It spoke in volumes of growth and maturity of man plus wild animal
The family involved loved each other and had taken commitment to even an animal cared for, seriously, even when it involved sacrifice, no matter how much it hurt. The man whom the boy had met, guided him not just by helping the boy return Duma to Duma's true home, but also helped the boy understand about life. The boy left home as a boy, but he returned home "as a man". And the man, was helped by the boy to the importance of family. So, both the man and boy had gained something important from each other: how love plus commitment toward family, and an animal was important.

Wonderful story for animal lovers.
I had seen this film before and we really wanted to have it in our collection because it is family friendly, has a heartwarming story, illustrates good values, and has just enough suspense, danger, adventure and fun to be very entertaining. It is about a boy's commitment to doing his best for a wild animal he raised, and taking some risks to do the right thing for Duma.

Engaging story of a boy's coming of age!
A boy and his father find a forlorn baby cheetah on the road in Africa during a rain storm. With his father's guidance he nurses and raises the cheetah and names him Duma. His world is complete and happy with his mom, dad and Duma. Then his father becomes seriously ill and dies - and everything changes. The boy must begin his journey to manhood. During his journey the teachings of his father and a native he meets along the way, guide him through one crisis after another, amidst the fantastic and beautiful African land.

An adorable tale of a boy and his Cheetah.. Cheetahs..thru history, have made good companions for those who take the time to learn their ways. Here, this movie, we get to see how that works..in the modern world!
