At the time this record was released, Last Train Home had just been named the Washington DC area's artist of the year by music folks who know. The large alt-country and pop band fronted by music journalist Eric Brace made it's most melodic and absorbing album with 'Time and Water'. Check out the compelling Quarter to 3, the honky-tonking Blue Skies or the poignant All Gone Now for tastes of how well Brace's honest voice and stellar songwriting mesh with the group's abundant Mavericks-like sound. The title track, Time and Water, absolutely soars. A country-oriented band with musicians that elevate the sound. Put it in the changer and hit repeat.
