Reviews
"The best moments in the novel occur when the characters disclose what's in their hearts and minds with rueful, snappy humor." -- The New York Times Book Review "Michener hooks you with wonderfully humorous scenes. These are then interwoven between the moments of pain and heartache brought about by life choices we all must make." -- Tulsa World "Engaging . . . One will be drawn into the novelist's world. . . . The lush natural setting provides James Michener plenty to show and tell." -- The Washington Times
Synopsis
MICHENER IS AMERICA'S BEST WRITER. --The Pittsburgh Press In his stunning new novel, bestselling novelist James A. Michener draws on his unparalleled gift for storytelling, his deep understanding of American society, and his own life experiences to illuminate the challenges of aging and the folly of youth in a Florida retirement home known as the Palms. As the new, young director of the Palms, Andy Zorn suffers no shortage of loving support and wise advice from his elders, a group of five passionate, outspoken residents who refuse to accept the passive roles that both society and family have handed them. Yet past scandal has driven Zorn to despondency, until he meets an extraordinary young woman in the rehab wing, who has been forced to rebuild her life in the face of crippling injuries. Now Zorn finds himself falling in love--and with the help and gentle jabs from his more mature friends, he discovers a wonderful new purpose in life.... - g***a (81)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufI received a different version of the item that was advertised - but am extremely happy to report that Clarissa responded quickly and, once it was confirmed, issued a refund without delay. I've ordered from this vendor in the past: wonderful high quality books, & have always enjoyed quick replies with helpful information, great prices and fast shipping. Mistakes happen. Rock solid customer service is RARE. Thank you, Clarissa for handling the discrepancy so well. I'll def buy from you again!Flor y Canto; Tercera Edición Words and Music- 9781579921583, hardcover, Various (Nr. 388314820808)
- s***t (2248)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter Kauf🎈🎈🧨🧨🎈🎈 This seller is all about service and customer satisfaction!! I ordered a book, received a book (very fast shipping), but it was not the title I ordered (same subject matter). I sent a message explaining what happened, received very quick response that was apologetic and requesting some additional info about the book I received. Sent that info and again very quick response. The book I wanted was not in stock, a full refund was issued, and I was allowed to keep the book I received!!😀
- 5***5 (309)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufUnfortunately I never received books, but it wasn’t seller’s fault. Tracking info proved items were honestly mailed out on time, so either postal service lost/mis-delivered package or it was stolen from my building mailroom. Whatever the case, seller gave me a full refund. I really appreciate them making it right & although I bought the books I wanted elsewhere, this seller is aboveboard & can be trusted & I’d buy from them again.
