Reviews
Advance praise: 'This is a very clear, easy to read and insightful book on one of the most fascinating and yet complex natural phenomena. The content and structure of the book are well designed for use on an undergraduate or graduate course on lightning. It is enriched with interesting exercises and problems, and is nicely complemented by nine instructive appendices. The book is a must for anyone interested in understanding lightning and its effects.' Farhad Rachidi, Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory (EMC Lab), Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL)

Synopsis
This new book provides a focused set of topics suitable for advanced undergraduate or graduate courses on lightning. It presents the current state of the art in lightning science including areas such as lightning modeling, calculation of lightning electromagnetic fields, electromagnetic methods of lightning location, and lightning damaging effects and protective techniques. Pedagogical features designed to facilitate class learning include end-of-chapter summaries, further reading suggestions, questions and problems, and a glossary explaining key lightning and atmospheric electricity terms. A selection of appendices are provided at the end of the book, which include detailed derivations of exact equations for computing electric and magnetic fields produced by lightning. Designed for a single-semester course on lightning and its effects, and written in a style accessible to technical non-experts, this book will also be a useful, up-to-date reference for scientists, engineers and practitioners who have to deal with lightning in their work., Presenting the current state of the art in lightning science, this book provides a focused set of topics suitable for advanced undergraduate or graduate students on a single-semester course. - v***4 (131)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufPurchased 5 car Madison rail car set at auction. Received package well wrapped and in original box. Cars themselves are in excellent condition and mostly as described, although I believe they have seen some track time. That being said, seller offers returns so I'm confident seller was told these cars were new by whomever he got them from. The purchase price was excellent so when averaged with a higher than normal shipping fee it turned out to be an overall good deal.(D) #56W - Williams 43471 O Gauge Custom Pullman 60 Ft. - n***2 (298)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufSeller responded quickly to my question before purchasing and the book is in great condition, basically "like new" except for some yellowing. I also appreciate that they don't put huge stickers on the books like a lot of the other big sellers. It was shipped quickly, arrived in 1 week, and pretty well packaged so there was no shipping damage (in spite of USPS wedging the cardboard envelope so tightly in my mailbox that I almost couldn't get it out). I'd definitely buy from them again.
