In this book, John 1:51 and the motif of "Jacob's ladder" in Genesis 28:12, Jaesoon Kim makes conclusion that the motif of "Jacob's ladder" in John's gospel and Revelation to present the eschatological tension between "already" and "not yet". Jesus is the connection between heaven and earth as like the ladder, it advanced to the future second descension, because the angels ascending and descending relates to the incarnation, ascension, and the parousia of the Son of Man.
