Bravo! Ms. Fisher
We have so enjoyed the "Miss Fisher" mysteries - it is so smart, so well-written, engaging, original characters, and a superb acting ensemble. So rare among series television, each character grows, develops, discovers her or himself. It is feminism in the finest sense - a heroine, the amazing Phryne, not only not content with the stereotyped roles assigned her by 1920s culture, but refusing to accept such, enabling herself and other women - the endearing Dottie, for one - to secure lives that fulfill their individual talents, hopes, possibilities. Superb art direction, costume design - all combine to pre- sent a marvelous look at the 1920s. Bravo!

A Beautiful Woman Private Detective Ahead of Her Time
An enjoyable TV series which was shown on PBS, there are 3 seasons of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries produced; this is season two. Back in the Flapper Era in Australia, wealthy Phryne Fisher becomes a private detective, to assuage her adventuresome spirit. This is rather out of keeping with women's roles in that era. She is sexy, bright, and takes risks. The acting ensemble, and the costumers do a good job. Adapted from Kerry Greenwood's books this is an entertaining mystery drama. Recommended.

Just a great series to watch!
I bought all 3 Series. I wish they would put more of the series on DVD. Essie Davis and the other characters are great actors. Miss Fishers Murder Mysteries are very entertaining with good clean fun.

Super Fun Series
The stories are very entertaining. The clothes, the buildings, the cars, and the overall scenery are awesome! The characters really pull you in. The casting is outstanding. No one comes to my mind who I think could have played these characters better than those who were chosen.

Wonderful engaging Series.
This is one of the most engaging Mystery Series available to the public. Made in Australia, it uses every wonderful location available throughout Melbourne and its outlying areas. Great writing and Ms. Fisher is absolutely one of a kind as a sleuth and counterpoint to the police. Great shows.

Detectives with wit and charm.
The characters build from episode to episode, so I recommend starting with Series 1. The stories address serious social issues--like abortion, drugs, child slavery--but the wit and charm of Inspector Robinson and Miss Fisher help to offset the seedy elements.

Lightweight enjoyable show
Great 1920s costumes, locations, photography, acting is fine- its a mystery cozy- not a hard edge detective story. I throughly enjoyed this series.

Why so much bloodshed on US produced shows
Ms Fisher is a great whodoneit which engages the viewers instead of making them lose their dinner and blindfold their kids. We'll done Aussies!
