Synopsis
This state-of-the-art contributed volume presents a series of peer-reviewed survey articles by top experts in computer vision, pattern recognition and Human-Computer Interaction. It is the first published text capturing the latest research in this rapidly advancing field with exclusive focus on real-time algorithms and practical applications in numerous industries, including computer games and medical and automotive systems. Contributors discuss topics such as Vision-Based Fingerspelling and Hand Gesture Recognition, Head and Facial Animation Tracking, Real-Time Vision Interfaces, and Map Building from Human-Computer Interactions. It is an invaluable reference for researchers and practitioners in the areas of Human-Computer Interaction and computer vision, and an excellent starting point for further research because it outlines further challenges in these fields., 200Ts Vision of Vision One of my formative childhood experiences was in 1968 stepping into the Uptown Theater on Connecticut Avenue in Washington, DC, one of the few movie theaters nationwide that projected in large-screen cinerama. I was there at the urging of a friend, who said I simply must see the remarkable film whose run had started the previous week. "You won't understand it," he said, "but that doesn't matter. " All I knew was that the film was about science fiction and had great special eflPects. So I sat in the front row of the balcony, munched my popcorn, sat back, and experienced what was widely touted as "the ultimate trip: " 2001: A Space Odyssey. My friend was right: I didn't understand it. . . but in some senses that didn't matter. (Even today, after seeing the film 40 times, I continue to discover its many subtle secrets. ) I just had the sense that I had experienced a creation of the highest aesthetic order: unique, fresh, awe inspiring. Here was a film so distinctive that the first half hour had no words whatsoever; the last half hour had no words either; and nearly all the words in between were banal and irrelevant to the plot - quips about security through Voiceprint identification, how to make a phonecall from a space station, government pension plans, and so on, 200Ts Vision of Vision One of my formative childhood experiences was in 1968 stepping into the Uptown Theater on Connecticut Avenue in Washington, DC, one of the few movie theaters nationwide that projected in large-screen cinerama. - e***r (10)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufYou can’t always be sure when an item is listed “like new” but this seller delivered a book that is just that. I’m very pleased with the condition of the book and the pricing was excellent compared to other sellers online. It was packaged extremely well and arrived with no wrinkles or folded areas. I made a great purchase and I now look forward to purchasing additional items by this author from this seller. 10/10 satisfaction! The Power of A Praying Wife Omartian, Stormie paperback Used - Like New (Nr. 276668989218)
- b***b (169)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letztes JahrBestätigter KaufAfter two poor experiences with this seller, they exceeded my expectations with this order…hard to believe it was the same seller. The book purchased, identified in their listing as “Very Good”, was, in fact, “Like New”. The price was very fair. Shipping was slow, but that seems to be true with many things purchased in the internet. If I have a complaint, it is that the seller will not respond to specific questions about a listed item before the purchase..too many orders to do so! 🙁The Beginning or the End: How Hollywood―and America―Learned to Stop Worrying an (Nr. 387783000754)
