I got two, they do eventually wear out and I use them pretty hard. I have an 18-400 Tamron, and at the 18 side of things the lens catches the original glare hood. This one adjusts, so no more problem!

I suggest careful handling to avoid pressure when not in use. Otherwise, the hood seems to do the job.
