This way i had both hands free to hold ring true. I spun the cutter so the ring is forced down on to the aluminum milled surface. I only cut one side of ring and it seemed to work better if i did not use the pins to hold ring. When using the pins i was having trouble keeping the ring cut at a 90. Only ko'd one ring took to much off after switching battery in drill... worked great..
