OH, my gosh, what a fantastic series! It's like a really good book you can't put down. If I watched one episode, I watched three at a time. Perhaps it took me most of an evening, but I couldn't turn it off. The stories are wonderful but the characters are awesome. The acting is A+ Some of the characters are terribly amusing, even in their sad situation. I will probably start watching the whole series again soon. great story, difficult cds to watch.
I have watched the entire collection. CD # 3 in the third box and CD # 2 in the fourth box are difficult to watch as they are damaged or dirty. Stops and no starts, and pictures horrible. I tried cleaning each of these discs and it helped somewhat. I cleaned them again and it helped a bit more. But, they are not perfect, by any means. I love the entire series. And, for the price it is okay.I have watched the entire collection. CD # 3 in the third box and CD # 2 in the fourth box are difficult to watch as they are damaged or dirty. Disappointed in Disc Quality
Great story line and acting. Unfortunately, the quality of the individual discs themselves is very low. I finally made it through Series 2 after struggling to get the discs of Series 1 and 2 to work properly. I even purchased a brand new DVD player. Now on Series 3, I've had to use three (3) different DVD players just to begin watching the first disc. The individual discs break down when playing and the words don't match the mouth movement, so I have had to move to yet another DVD player. Hope to eventually get through the entire series, but realize that it's going to be a challenge. Probably the producers and writers would not be pleased to learn that the disc quality used in this boxed series is not up to BBC standards. A lot of time, expense and effort were expended in the ... I've have purchased many BBC series from online sellers over the years and this is the first time that I've ever run into these sort of disc play-back issues. I'd recommend scaling up the quality of the materials involved in manufacturing any future Lark Rise to Candleford series disc sets.

Great show for the whole family!
I work at a library and we have season 1 of this show and I’ve picked it up several times over the year to take out but ended up outside back on the shelf as it didn’t look like my kind of show but I finally decided to just give 1 episode a go and boy I immediately feel in love with this show and all the characters in it. I wish I took out sooner! After watching just a few episodes I had to purchase the entire series to add to my collection. Nothing But Praise for Lark Rise to Candleford
When I watched the first season of Lark Rise to Candleford I found it pleasing and thought I'd watch more sometime. This didn't happen for several months. Where was my head? The next season made me want to get the next. I was checking these out from the Library, but soon I became hooked and frantically checked online for the best deal to buy the whole set. It took me awhile to bring myself to watch the very last show because I didn't want it to end, but now I am starting the whole series over. The characters were very well portrayed, and the facial expressions were perfect for revealing the innermost thoughts and feelings of each individual. They must have had a lot of practice in this art. Not only were the morals high throughout, and the humor most entertaining, but the wisdom expressed ... When I watched the first season of Lark Rise to Candleford I found it pleasing and thought I'd watch more sometime. This didn't happen for several months. Where was my head? The next season made me want to get the next. I was checking these out from the Library, but soon I became hooked and frantically checked online for the best deal to buy the whole set. It took me awhile to bring myself to watch the very last show because I didn't want it to end, but now I am starting the whole series over. The characters were very well portrayed, and the facial expressions were perfect for revealing the innermost thoughts and feelings of each individual. They must have had a lot of practice in this art. Not only were the morals high throughout, and the humor most entertaining, but the wisdom expressed by key figures was positive and almost life changing. When someone that has made a big mistake comes to me I hope I can learn to correct them with a smile on my face as is carried out by Dorcas, though I believe Henry was my favorite character. I LOVED it!
