As a multi-disc changer, the Sony DVP-CX870D allows users to enjoy uninterrupted video without having to stop and change DVDs. The Sony DVD player can hold up to 301 discs. Further features provided by the Sony DVD player include decoding for DTS and Dolby Digital surround sound, 100 dB of dynamic range, and 115 dB of audio SNR. The Sony DVP-CX870D includes a parental control function that allows users to lock down certain discs so that children will not have access to inappropriate material. The Sony DVD player also includes an on-screen display for picture control, DVD selection, and sound controls. The display on the front of the Sony DVD player will alert users to which DVD is being played at a given time. The DVD player measures 6.3 inches high by 17 inches wide by 16.3 inches deep. Delivers as advertised
This unit is from a different era when CDs and DVDs were all the rage but people still remembered what a record and a cassette tape were. Hooked up to a Yamaha receiver and a real 5.1 ch audio system this unit delivers as promised. Sound is excellent. Picture quality just below HDMI but still sharp and clear. Yes there are now better systems w/ 4K picture, but can they hold 300 CDs/DVDs and play like a jukebox? This one does it all. One major complaint which was never addressed in a decade - its difficult to load titles and artist info. You’ll just have to deal with that technology.
