Excellent. An unexpected classic
Great to see Pearl Jam back after more than 6 years and Gigaton was well worth the wait and well up there with the 1st 2 albums 10 and versus among the best of their career to date. Whoever Said, Quick Escape, Never Destination and Take the Long Road are awesome hard rockers, Seven o'clock is another album highlight despite a negative mention of the current US president - a true epic of a song musically, Alright and Retrograde are 2 of the quieter tracks both among their best work, in particular the latter with it's shimmering earthy beauty. Pearl Jam In 2020
PJ where right in the foreground when grunge first emerged from Seattle in the early 90’s. There breakthrough album,10, set a very high bar which few of their peers were able to rival. Since then, they have maintained a steady relevant output over 30 years! Admittedly, there were a few lows along the way. However, with Gigatron they are back to their very best. Comebacks don't always work but this definitely does!
