Good Family Movie
It's a great movie to watch with the family. As with "Lord of the Rings", the cinematography, costumes, scenery and music are fabulous. With the Hobbit, the story does feel like there is a lot of filler, no doubt because one small book was stretched out into 3 movies. pretty good, be prepared to want the rest of the show.

The Hobbit part 1
I think the movie is better than many people think it is. It sticks very close to the book and I like that very much. And the fact the Lord of the Rings came out first is a hard act for anyone to follow, even for the same director.
