OEM parts are not always and necessarily best choice to replace worn parts, but it appears that no compatibles work well in MOEN products, judging based on Internet sources. This cartridge though, in my my experience, goes bad by accumulating sediments on piston part starting to move hard - not the best choice of material used? Top quality OEM part.

moen vs after market
