“Little House on the Prairie - The Complete Television Series” is the1974-1983 drama television series based on Laura Ingalls Wilder's best-selling books, and was about the trials and tribulations of a young family that settles on the wild American frontier of the 1870s. In this, Michael Landon stars as a simple farmhouse patriarch who heads a household consisting of his wife, four daughters, and eventually, a slew of adopted children in “Little House on the Prairie - The Complete Television Series”. Look for a late-series appearance by a young Jason Bateman in this 60-disc set as a boy whose parents were killed in a wagon accident. A family-friendly primetime drama, LITTLE HOUSE became successful and enjoyed a prosperous run for nine years because of the right balance in comedy and drama. Included among these 200-plus episodes, this 60-disc set also has special features worth seven hours of content. What’s more, the “Little House on the Prairie - The Complete Television Series” was nominated for 17 Emmy and three Golden Globe awards.

    If Only Modern Television Programs Were This Good . . .

    I bought the "Little House" set for my wife after we "Cut the Cable" and she loves it. Back when it was a current program, I never watched due to work hours and generally not having time or inclination to watch television that much. So all I ever saw was what seemed like the same re-runs on network and cable television, over and over. With this set, I actually enjoy "Little House on the Prairie" as well and actually understand who is who much better and how each character tied in to later episodes. The "Covered Wagon" style case is really nice and has everything organized really well.

    Mom loves it!

    I bought this collection for my mother. She not only read the books but watched the series when it first came out. Mom was overjoyed to receive this collection and has already watched the first couple seasons. I recommend the "Little House on the Prairie" complete 9 season set to anyone who longs for simpler times or is a fan of Laura Ingalls Wilder or Michael Landon. If you are having a bad day, stick one of these discs in and be instantly transported back to a time when not only families but whole communities were close-knit, loving and caring for each other and willing to work hard and do what it took to ensure the survival of all.

    Some slight damage in shipping (scratches from coming out of dvd holders and cases banged up from lack of excelsior) but overall happy all DVDs play.

    Great Family Viewing

    Very nice and reasonably priced. I love this warn engaging series about a family living in a time when people were honest hard-working God fearing pioneers. The charactors are so warn and engaging and there is laughter, fun a nd even a few tears. This series is a breath of fresh air in our troubled times. Eery things was what I was expecting or better!
