Tekota
The Tekota has proven to be a solid reel for bottom fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. The level-wind is very helpful for guests and kids, but the reel has a very good drag and handles snapper, Cobia, and other fish we encounter without issues.

Shimano TEK 500lc
This model “TEK 500LC” is a discontinued model. Shimano has re-engineered the Tekota, making it more corrosion resistant, slightly smaller ( same line capacity), and more “palmable”. Also making a left hand model I think. Personally I like the looks and feel of this model.

Great Salmon Reel
The TEK500LC is well made and very corrosion resistant which is a huge plus when fishing in salt water. The retrieve rate is aggressive and the line counter works very well. I've purchased four of these reels for every salmon rod on my boat and wouldn't be without them.

It’s a TEKOTA!
Hands down one of the best reals on the market with a reputation to back it up. For the LC models you really have to determine the best line capacity for your application as its essential to keeping an accurate counter.

Tekota line counter reels
I have owned Tekota line counter reels in models 300 through 600 for many years and they are the best value and quality in my opinion. I use them in fresh water as well as salt water and have never had a breakdown, even though I have many hours of use on them.

Nice and smooth
The real is nice and smooth it's great for casting as well as trolling I used a friend of mine's old one so I had to go out and buy myself one I think it's just a little high-priced for everything that's out on the market but you are paying for the name

tekota lc. Great lakes workhorse
Ive kinda settled on these for trolling because they have the best drag range of any Ive used so far.
