    Unfortunately the item did not arrive due to complications in newly implemented tariffs. That said, the seller was VERY kind & communicative every step of the way and kindly refunded me when customs took control of the item for nearly three weeks and ended up returning it even after I paid for the tariff. I was later refunded for that as well. Whatever the case, nikonikoya was an excellent seller and did everything they could to make me as a customer satisfied, regardless of the shipping issues.

    Great for singing, violin & flute!

    I bought the Shure WH20XLR for singing while playing drum set and percussion. I quickly realized it also worked great for flute and violin. This is especially cool for a singing violinist, who demo'ed the head set in a session with us. She is going to buy one ASAP! It slightly picked up my breathing if I get winded while drumming, so I guess I'll excercise more! The sound is excellent. My only wish is if it had an on off switch on it somewhere, so that I could turn it off for songs that are exerting. I suppose I could just detach the connection though. I love the idea that it is wired and the wires runs out the back of the headset, which also comes with a clip for the wire to attach to the back of your shirt.     Shure Headset Microphone

    The mic is light weight and produces great sound. However, being a right handed drummer, I prefer the mic boom to be on my left so I can adjust the boom with my left hand. The connector cable is very short and made to be used with a body pack not a mic cable. The mic is also very noisy when taking it off my head. I have to have someone mute the mic before I take it off or it sounds like explosions going off.

    Good hand free mic.

    The WH20XLR is overall well-built except for the wind screen which can fall off easily. The sound is good at mid and high frequencies but understandably not as good at low frequencies compared to a hand held Shure microphone such as the SM58. It is a good microphone for back-up vocal when you need your hands for other instruments.

    Very shure-cure fit and good sound.

    The croaky back head strap is adjustable for tension and provides an excellent secure and comfortable hold for dynamic use. I am using it to background sing while playing the drums. Even comparing it to my sm58 this mic is quite acceptable and offers impressive sound delivery and sweat protection for such a small cartridge. I wish they offered an SM 35 version like this with the croakie and The Sweat Protection but that product line caters to the lead singers who don't sweat but is a slightly better mic. I believe the $300 Michael Jackson version does it all but was way out of my price range. XLR connector has a solid clip for the belt and the cord has a lapel clip for the shirt This one is quite good and could be used for lead.

    What I expected

    Took the drummer a while to get used to it but he sounds much better now. For the money it is a decent mic, you would have to pay 3 times as much to get a truly light weight mic with a flatter response, as others have noted this mic is a little lacking in the high end but with a little EQ it is definitely usable.
