Love Sharp Knives? Then Look Here!
As close to professional sharpening as you can get with this type of device. It's not the hype you see on TV but it is still very, very good. I find it is the best for maintaining a very sharp edge without resorting to tedious hand grinding on sharpening stones or a sharpening steel after every few strokes.. Still a rough grinding on a stone followed by this device will give that professionally sharpened, polished edge. Be careful to follow the directions, though. I didn't and as a result I wore out my first device.....surprising since the sharpening inserts are supposed to be tungsten carbide, a very hard material. So, when you sharpen do NOT bear down with much force at all.....just a little does it. But even at my heavy-handedness, my first one lasted two years and at this price I gladly would consider this an expendable product, just the same as a grinding stone. Works If...
Pay attention to the directions & be prepared to 'stroke' your knife more times than you'd like. Important to maintain angle on 2 axes (plural of axis I looked it up). Be patient (especially with hard SS), use modest pressure & it will reward you with a pretty decent edge. I found it easier to use clamped in a woodworker's vise w/ padded jaws. Love it! Works better than stones because you have to have the angle right.
I had told my mother about this product when I got my first one. She asks of me to bring it every time I go see my parents so I can sharpen her kitchen knives. With this covid thing, I have not been allowed to go up there. I bought these sharpeners; one for mom and one for my grandson. My grandson used mine on his weed cutting machete and loved the sharp! Average; not but great
Purchased because I needed something that would sharpen only the leading edge on serrated steak knives. It does a fairly decent job at that, but not so great on regular kitchen knives. If your regular knives are really dull, this will bring back a 'usable' edge (with a lot of effort and 75+ strokes) but will not give you that advertised 'razor sharp' feel. I use this "Bavarian Edge" to get about 80% of the way there, then finish with a 'wet-stone' for a razor edge. So; it's not junk, and does give your knives a decent edge (the serrated edge sharpening was my purchase point) but will require some extra effort for that professional edge feel.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Best knife sharpener

Poor quality. Some parts had even fallen off in shipping.
I thought I had found a replacement for my Warthog V sharp. Wrong! Cheaply made. Would like to Hanes paid more for a better quality product.
