The BeeGees and Peter Frampton
I remembered seeing this movie when I was in jr high school. Ordered the dvd to share with my grown children during the Thanksgiving holidays. However, after rewatching the movie, I do not believe my grown kids will enjoy the movie. I will give it a try, since it’s here. But, it is akin to watching Xanadu. SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND DVD
No great acting here yet I didn't expect it to be. I got it because I like BEE GEES & I like Peter Frampton & I like Beatles cover songs. So some are pretty good here & some are not. AEROSMITH & Billy Preston as well as Earth,Wind,&Fire all do well on their versions of Beatle classics. Not much of a storyline but has its moments in some of the music. Talents of Steve Martin are wasted here. Dumb cameo part but he humorously sings "Maxwell's Silver Hammer." Horrible movie and kinda fabulous all at the same time!! I (jokingly) bought this for a girls night at my sister's house. I'm in my late 40's she is mid 40's and we love the music. But OMG, how can so many incredibly talented people put together one of most horrible movie of all time! We enjoyed watching, and asking ourselves if it would get any better. It did not. Waste of a good opportunity to showcase Beatles' music
This movie is an abomination. Poorly written, acted, directed, and conceptualized, not to mention trying to use synthetic voice technology before that technology was sufficiently developed or viable. Fun Movie From My Childhood
By most any method of determination, this movie is just really awful...but I love it. A different spin on so many great Lennon/McCartney/Harrison songs. Any true Beatles purist will likely be unable to get past these songs being played mostly be the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton, but there are some really quality renditions here (in my opinion). Review
I have loved this film since it first appeared in theatres a life time ago. It was entertaining than still is. Have a very good copy in my DVD collection allows me to see it as often as I wish. And I can share it with the younger generation so they know what I mean when I want to see a film that is entertaining and not very polical.
