The Old West with Alittle Bravo Rio ... Kids
Rio Bravo is great western ever made. I saw as little and I wanted to be John Wayne and fight bad guys. John Wayne is at his best in Rio Bravo and you just got like Ricky Nelson as a young gun slinger and Angie Dickinson, is beauty to look at. A great movie from director, Howard Hanks in 1956. John Wayne, Dean Martin and Ricky Nelson vs. Bad Guys in the Old Days
Classic 1959 Duke Wayne western fare, directed by the great Howard Hawks, wherein Wayne is sheriff in a small southwest Texas town. He arrests a murderous bad guy, who happens to have a well connected brother, a big business / gang leader. So forces are out to free the bad guy, but they are held off by Wayne and his interesting bad of helpers - gimpy Walter Brennan who guards the office/jail, recovering alcoholic but crack gunman Dean Martin as an ex-deputy who is re-deputized, and Ricky Nelson as Colorado Ryan, a 21 year old gunslinger. Dean and Ricky sing a duet! Ancillary characters are the sheriff's ex-lover Angie Dickinson who comes to town and helps the cause, Ward Bond, always a part of the Duke's stable of actors as an old pal who comes to town and wants to help out, Gonzalez Gonzalez as the saloon owner, who helps out, and a big wagon full of dynamite which helps out eventually. Worth it if you love westerns like I do.
Dean Martin did a good job of acting but Ricky Nelson was too young and boyish to be in this western and that is why he did not have a big role. It is not a favorite of mine but I will keep it in my collection.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Awesome movie

Awesome western, action, romance and great music.

Best of a Classic Western combining John Wayne, Dean Martin, Ricky Nelson and Walter Brennan with John Wayne style, Dean's singing & Ricky's singing & music, Walter Brennan's old man wit comedy and an added beauty of Angie Dickinson and Ward Bond's character.
