"In one indispensable volume, McConaughy combines pragmatic clinical strategies with insightful overviews of the research that underlies key interview topics. Her explanations bridge behavioral and traditional theoretical assessment frameworks, and are simultaneously clear enough for beginning interviewers and astute enough for experienced ones. The up-to-date examinations of bullying and sexual identity are invaluable. This book is a gem."--Beth Doll, PhD, School Psychology Program, University of Nebraska-Lincoln "McConaughy masterfully integrates theories and concepts concerning clinical interviewing into this engaging practitioner guide. Strengths of the book include the contextualization of clinical interviewing into multimethod assessment; the focus on interviewing children, parents and teachers; recurring case examples to illustrate concepts; and specific attention to the interpretation of interview data. The contributed chapters on assessing suicide and youth violence risks are welcome and timely. In my opinion, there is no better resource for clinical interviewing."--Robert J. Volpe, PhD, Department of Counseling and Applied Educational Psychology, Northeastern University. "Reproducible semistructured interviews are among the user-friendly features of this book. The breadth of coverage and attention to developmental issues distinguish it from other works on child clinical interviewing. This is an essential resource for school, clinical, and counseling psychologists, as well as guidance counselors and social workers who work with children and adolescents, and is an excellent text for graduate courses in these fields."Jan N. Hughes, PhD, Department of Educational Psychology, Texas A&M University, "In one indispensable volume, McConaughy combines pragmatic clinical strategies with insightful overviews of the research that underlies key interview topics. The second edition includes front-line topics and interview questions in critical areas of concern, such as suicide risk, school violence, and multicultural assessment. One addition that is particularly pertinent to practitioners is the coverage of bullying and victimization. The book is comprehensive and extremely practical."--Julie M. They are also realistically complex and detailed....Provides the reader with an excellent model for effective, real-life clinical problem solving with difficult child clinical cases. Its widespread use as an academic text and as a manual for clinical practice is strongly encouraged."-- PsycCRITIQUES (on the first edition), This book packs in a large amount of useful and user-friendly information.... - e***- (121)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzter MonatBestätigter KaufUnfortunately I received a damaged book, the item and the package both were damaged and it was clearly evident its appearance that it happened during transit. The seller was very understanding and gave me a full refund for the damaged book, though it was no fault of their own. Other than the damage, the book was as described, the quality and condition aside from the damaged spot was like new. The cost of the book was reasonable. I would definitely purchase from the seller again.
- v***v (2098)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufAlthough this book was not as described, with no picture of it in the listing, the seller communicated well and quickly gave me a full refund while letting me keep it. The minimal packaging left the book a bit vulnerable (typical for ThriftBooks), but it did arrive safely and timely. As usual, it’s hit or miss with this seller, but often times you can get great values, and their customer service is always very good. Many other sellers with millions of transactions don’t even communicate. How to chalk talk, by Harlan Tarbell (Nr. 197064259889)
