Gold tone mute is great!
The Gold Tone Mute is makes your banjo much less loud and keeps most of the tones in check. You won't find off keys due to this easy device. I use it to practice at night where I won't wake everyone up!

Unbelievable Muter!!!
One of the ONLY items that I have ever taken the time to write a review for... This very simple little tool not only made my Irish Tenor Banjo beyond whisper quiet so that I can play while my wife is sleeping, but even though I play with heavier strings, it also warmed the overall tone, and made it sound similar to a Classical Acoustic Guitar with a thick sleeping bag over it, volume wise. Hugely recommended for anyone who is a night owl like myself!!!

Does the trick
The mute stops most of the transfer from the bridge to the banjos head quite well for more quiet practice as expected. The resultant tone is very mellow and opens up your playing to different tonal possibilities. Well worth trying, and beats stuffing the resonator!

A good mute
This mute is easy to use and does not interfere with tuning. The sound is very good.

Great fit and sound
I have two banjo’s, one new and one antique and the mutes fit on both. I bought them to be able to practice quietly anytime and as a bonus they sound very good.

A very unique and well thought out idea/item
I use this item every time I'm home, playing and have my windows open. Goes on and comes back off very easily. Its always in my case.

Great Banjo Mute
After looking at different mutes for my banjo to damper the tone, I went with this due to price. After trying it I was greatly pleased on how easy it was to put on and take off the bridge and the tone it gave was right where I wanted it so I didn't play loudly when I practice on my banjo

This Mute is great it does exactly as needed, it mutes the sound but doesn't kill it. It's perfect for practicing without disturbing the family
