This second group of episodes from the Emmy-winning "microseries" STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS combines dynamic, stylized animation with action-driven storylines as it explores new terrain in the already vast Star Wars universe. Directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, the mind behind innovative animated shows like SAMURAI JACK and THE POWERPUFF GIRLS, this series takes the viewer through the Clone Wars--largely an off-screen presence in the theatrical films--and right up to the beginning of the sixth film, EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH. Tartakovsky's take on George Lucas's world follows Anakin Skywalker through stormy adventures, galactic battles, and the secret ceremony that makes him an official Jedi knight. The story also introduces us to the evil General Grievous and takes us through the Jedis' attempts to beat back his surprise attack on Coruscant. With longer episodes and more character development than the first volume, this portion of the story provides additional information on Mace Windu and other more obscure Jedi knights whose histories are left to the viewer's imagination in the films. In addition, those who found the politics of the most recent film trilogy too convoluted to follow should be able to fill in the gaps after watching these stories. The collection also boasts many special features, including commentary from Tartakovsky and some of his animation artists, behind-the-scenes looks at the show's creative and animation processes, and video game trailers.

The best form of Star Wars
This is the first version of the Clone Wars cartoon and superior to the computer animated version. It has the animation done by the guys who made Samurai Jack. Full of excitement and cliffhangers like the Saturday matinee serials that Star Wars was based on. The dvds are well done.

Love the Clone Wars Series!
Love this animation series! This series of short stories is a little crude in animation compared to its later tv series. However it's stores are excellent, fun watch and helps fans to bridge the gaps of events at going on in the Star Wars universe. I give this series two thumbs up and recommend it for any Star Wars lover

Childhood memories from the mid 2000s!
I haven't seen this Star Wars mini series in ages! At least I'm reminiscing my childhood memories watching it! I've definitely lost track of this series! Until now I can enjoy the series!

Not canon anymore, but no less fantastic!
Such a creative and fun version of Star Wars. Been a big fan since it came out. Highly recommend for any fan, even though it’s not considered Star Wars canon.

The Original Clone Wars
