NotesThey say there must be something in the water out there in Eastern New Mexico & West Texas, particularly in the small town of Clovis, New Mexico, located 100 miles west of Lubbock Texas on the Texas, New Mexico border. Clovis is definetely one of the real birthplaces of Rockn'Roll. Many hit records were recorded in Clovis at the world famous Norman Petty Recording Studio. Hits by Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison and more recently Leann Rimes were all recorded there. Now there is a new star on the horizon 21 year old Will Banister a singer song writter from Portales New Mexico which is just 18 miles down the road from Clovis. Will has been singing and playing guitar at jamboree's and festival's around the southwest since he was only 10 years old. He's known as the kid who sings Merle and Hank and almost any classic country artist you could think of. In 2009 Will teamed up with legendary Clovis New Mexico record producer/guitarist Johnny Mulhair who recorded Leann Rimes Multi-platinum CD "Blue". Together with Mulhair's love of traditional country music and Will's extra ordinary talent the chemistry between the two of them clicked. Both agreed that Will should write all of the songs for the CD. After Will had written all eleven songs they went to work on recording the CD "Turned Her On To Country". Mulhar and his wife Jill own and operate their own recording studio in Clovis. With the help of the best musicians in West Texas and New Mexico the CD was finally realeased on July 1st 2010. This is only the begining of a long career. Will has already garnered a loyal legion of fans and has begun writting songs for his next CD.
