This author speaks to spiritual growth, Biblically based and solid as the rock upon which it is built which engages all your human dynamics fully.
Prior to reading through this book, I thought only the Bible & Preacher/Teacher Oswald Chambers were both compelling and understandable; now this is equal to Pastor Chamber's writings while this can only be understood if you look up the Scripture references and so keep track not only of what Nee's saying and intending you understand, but also whether and how he analyzes human nature to sin and the help provided by the Savior Jesus Christ through the activity and power of the Holy Spirit. There is a powerful pathway to living the Christ-ian life contained in both the Old & New Covenants and this Nee makes plain through very careful reading, analysis and then integration of what we know from Scripture with how our daily walk sometimes in not all it promises; he fully and carefully details these and the temptations and traps every human is subject too apart from the Holy Spirit so that the fullest life and greatest joy can be had in the here and now; the strange thing is, even true in suffering whether our own or our loved ones or friends. A totally encouraging work that takes time to read and digest for it is NOT "microwave pop-corn" that is, not quick and easy as it all true growth, even physical as one recalls turning from an adolescent into an adult, it takes time and some growth pains. A Guide to Spiritual Maturity
I read this book when I first became a Christian 40 years ago. It had a profound impact on my life as a Christian and helped me to grow quickly and maintain a strong Christian life. I'm reading it again now and it is still excellent and I am discovering how much I did not appreciate the first time I read it. it says it all
