Then the self-satisfied celebrity has his confidence shattered when ingenue Kathy Selden (Debbie Reynolds) dismisses film actors as "shadows" without substance. After getting over the insult, he falls hard for her--much to the consternation of his costar, the sexy, selfish Lina Lamont (Jean Hagen), who wants Don all to herself.But Don has career troubles too. The wild popularity of THE JAZZ SINGER has studios scrambling to change from silent films to talkies, and Lina's shrill voice and Don's stiff acting left the preview audience roaring with laughter. There's only one way to save the movie and their careers: turn THE DUELLING CAVALIER into a musical, with Kathy secretly dubbing in Lina's lines and songs. But can they hide the truth from Lina?

    One of the best musicals ever produced.

    One of the best musicals ever written. The music numbers are top-rate and it is spectacular to watch, but the overall story makes this a special movie. It has a total entertainment factor that will bring you back to watch it again and again.

    Recommended for lovers of song, dance and fun

    One of the greatest movies ever made. If you value classic musicals mixed with comedy, you have to have it. Chances are you already do. Amazing talent on display. The extra disc about the making of the film is interesting too.

    One of the best Musicals ever!

    One of the best musicals that was ever made: Singing in the Rain, Good Morning, Make Me Laugh, and If Moses Supposes His Toes is Rose Then Moses Supposes Erroneously - Four Super Songs that come off the top of my head. The three of them, Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor, and Debbie Reynolds could dance better than any movie stars today. Also, there is plenty of comedy in this movie, Silent Pictures to Talk Pictures. A great Movie!
