I found the the depth of the item protruded above the rails when fitted in position. The top of my code 100 rail is 2.5mm above the sleeper . Fine for a train set, they can be removed from track. I need the crossing glued down on my model railway as a fixed feature, and it would be very difficult to clean the track rails as they are about 0.5mm below the 'boards'.
