Sometimes you just get lucky and the seller is selling something that’s exactly as described, at a really good price (with free shipping), and they mail it out immediately instead of printing a shipping label and then waiting a few days. has it's uses and also it's quirks...

Decent quality for my use
Bought this chick to hold a 1 inch die for tapping pen parts (I make handwriting instruments). In order to get it to hold a 1 inch die I had to remove the jaws and reverse them, btw, but this chick allows it. It was very stiff upon first use but loosened up. Quality wise, this is what I would call "Harbor Freight" and not Rockler...

At first it looked good...
It looked well made - fit and finish was good, however the jaws were very stiff and hard to move. I took them off, cleaned and re-oiled the spiral gear and jaws, but didn't really help. Very difficult to clamp anything in the jaws with any force. Run-out was about what I would have expected - about .006" - All that being said, it has it's uses on a small lathe (I have an Atlas 6") although somewhat limited.It looked well made - fit and finish was good, however the jaws were very stiff and hard to move. This is a lathe chuck---it is for small work---it will hold an I.D. part of about .580 inch, to polish or file the O.D.---larger chucks will not do this---very seldom seen is the reversable ability of the one set of jaws---The tech. info does not tell you this...The jaws are numbered for regular use, as pictured, and reverse use---make sure to get them in the right slots in the body when changing them either way, it can seem confusing at first---but it does work... Great value, and as described.
Unit was packaged adequately for shipping, and was shipped and delivered very very quickly. Unpackaged and on first opening of jaws, operation was pretty stiff. After a little exercising, it smoothed out. To all the newbies like me, the 2 inch is the outside size of the unit, not how far the jaws open. I stuck a 1 inch rod in chuck, and would guess max size would be roughly 1 1/4". Adequate for my little projects. Purchase of this item was a small gamble on my part, as my little benchtop lathe uses MT0 shank, and I felt that I could turn down the MT1 that came with it to use on my lathe. The threads from the morse taper shanks to chuck were metric of some size that didn' t really matter, as the opening and threads were of sufficient size to tap the center for 1/2"-20 TPI to fit ...
